V Rising plans

Sized for your clan,
and the clans next door.

Every plan comes with everything further down this page. What changes is the number of player slots and how much RAM the server can use. Tell us how many of you play and whether you'll use mods, and we'll show you where to start.

A V Rising server can hold up to 128 players, the most Stunlock's server supports. Stunlock capped its own official servers at 60 when 1.0 launched. Stunlock doesn't publish a memory figure for its server, so treat these sizes as a starting point.

These sizes are a guide. Mods, game settings and updates can all change how much RAM a server needs.

An AI assistant in your Game Panel that reads your server's logs and config files, and changes nothing until you approve it.

Game settings presets

Peaceful PvE to
drop-your-gear PvP.

V Rising's server ships with ready-made sets of game settings, from PvE where nobody can touch your castle to PvP where your gear drops when you die. Pick a preset to see what it sets.

Game settings preset
PvE
No fighting other players and no castle raids. Other players' chests are off limits, only your clan can loot your body, and soul shards are plentiful.
PvP
Players can fight any time, and castles can be raided in the evening window every day. Most of your gear stays on you when you die, anyone can loot the rest, and blood drains 25% faster than the default.
Weekend raids
Standard PvP, but castles can only be raided at weekends. Players can still fight each other any day.
No raids
Players can fight, but castles can never be damaged, so there are no raids at all. Soul shards are plentiful.
Duo PvP
Standard PvP for pairs: clans of 2 and one castle each. You get 25% more loot, materials and blood essence, and servant hunts bring back 75% more.
Hardcore PvP
Your gear drops when you die, and enemy castle hearts can be seized or destroyed. Loot, materials and blood essence are doubled, and each clan gets one castle.

Values from the preset files that ship with V Rising 1.1's server. Raid hours use the server's TimeZone setting, which is its own clock unless you change it. There are more presets, including Solo, Trio and Hardcore versions, and Level30 to Level90 starts. For your own rules, leave GameSettingsPreset empty and edit ServerGameSettings.json.

Mods

Mods are unofficial.
Treat them that way.

Stunlock doesn't support mods. It looked at official mod tools in 2026 and decided V Rising isn't built for them. There's a community modding scene, which Stunlock has pointed players to, but every mod in it is unofficial.

  • As Stunlock built it

    Unmodded

Presets, three difficulty levels and the game settings file already change a lot: PvP rules, raid hours, clan size, and loot and crafting rates, with no mods to keep up to date.

  • Unofficial

    Community mods

Community mods are shared on Thunderstore, and Stunlock featured the modding community in a 2026 dev update. Stunlock doesn't support them, and in 2025 it told players to be careful with any mod until they know it's safe.

Email us before you plan a modded server and we'll tell you what works on ours. Keep a backup from before you add any mod.

Settings

Set the rules
before the sun comes up.

V Rising keeps hosting settings in ServerHostSettings.json and the game's rules in ServerGameSettings.json, with two text files for admins and bans. Here's what's in them.

Name, description and password

What your server's called in the list, a line players see in its details and in chat when they join, and a password to keep it to your group.

SettingsNameDescriptionPassword

Listed or not

The game looks for servers in the EOS list by default, so switch ListOnEOS on to show up there. ListOnSteam adds your server to Steam's list too.

Presets and difficulty

Load one of Stunlock's game settings presets, and pick Easy, Normal or Brutal difficulty. Stunlock suggests Brutal only for players who've been through the game once.

Raid hours

Multipliers for loot, gathering and blood essence, plus how fast crafting and refining run. They all start at 1.

Joining

Round up
the clan.

Find your server in the game's list, or skip the list and connect straight to its address.

  1. Find it in the server list

In V Rising, choose Online Play, then Find Servers, and look for your server's name. It shows there once ListOnEOS is on, and it can take a few minutes to appear after the server starts.

  2. Or use Direct Connect

Choose Online Play, then Find Servers, then Display all Servers & Settings, and pick Direct Connect. Enter the address and port from the panel. It works even when the list doesn't load your server.

  3. Bring your own world

Upload the world's save folder to Saves/v4/ and set SaveName to the folder's name. Players get their own vampires back when they join from the same account.

FAQ

V Rising questions,
straight answers.

What people ask before they rent a V Rising server.

How much RAM does a V Rising server need?

We recommend up to 10 GB for up to 10 players, up to 10 GB for up to 20 players and up to 10 GB for up to 40 players. Our RAM sizes are a guide, based on player count. What a server really uses also depends on its mods and plugins, its settings (map size, view distance and spawn rates all count), how much its world grows over time, and the game's own updates. If you're planning a modded server, start a size up.

How many players can join a V Rising server?

Up to 128, the most Stunlock's server supports. The limit itself is the MaxConnectedUsers setting. Clans hold 4 players by default, and ClanSize changes that.

Can PS5 players join?

Not on our servers as they are. Stunlock makes a separate build of the dedicated server for the PS5 version of V Rising, and ours run the PC build from Steam.

Can I bring my world over?

Yes, from your own PC or another host. A world is one folder: upload it to Saves/v4/, set SaveName to its name and leave GameSettingsPreset empty so it keeps its own settings. A world in a v3 folder is from V Rising 1.0, so ask us before you move it.

Can I run PvE, or choose when castles get raided?

Yes. The StandardPvE preset turns off player fights and castle damage. On a PvP server, castles only take damage in the raid hours you set for weekdays and weekends. The standard PvP preset uses 20:00 to 22:00 every day, on the server's own clock unless you set TimeZone.

Can I use mods?

V Rising has no official mod support, and Stunlock decided in 2026 not to build mod tools. Community mods exist, but they're unofficial, so email us before you plan a modded server and we'll tell you what works on ours.

Will a V Rising update wipe my world?

Not any time soon. Stunlock said in March 2026 that it isn't making more content updates for V Rising, only balance and bug fixes, so there should be no need for a new save. Past content updates did need one, so keep a backup from before any patch.

Why restart a V Rising server every day?

Stunlock recommends it. Its server can often run for days, but a daily restart at a quiet time keeps things steady. Scheduled restarts come with every server.

Does voice chat work?

Stunlock's support site says V Rising's in-game voice chat only works on official servers and one partner host's servers. Text chat works on every server, ours included, so bring Discord for voice.
