Palworld plans

From a few tamers
to a full 32.

Every plan comes with everything further down this page. What changes is the number of player slots and how much RAM the server can use. Tell us how many of you play and whether you'll use mods, and we'll show you where to start.

Palworld servers hold 32 players at most. Pocketpair sets that limit, so it's the same on every plan. Their own guide recommends 16 GB of memory for a dedicated server and more for big ones: 8 GB will run, but it's more likely to crash if memory runs out.

These sizes are a guide. Mods, game settings and updates can all change how much RAM a server needs.

Our promises

  • Lag-free promise

We never overload our machines. If your server lags because of our hardware, we fix it at our cost.

An AI assistant in your Game Panel that reads your server's logs and config files, and changes nothing until you approve it.

Death penalty

What you drop
when you go down.

Palworld's death penalty decides what you leave behind when you die. Pick a setting and see what stays with you. Version 1.0 changed the default for dedicated servers from All to Item.

Death penalty setting
None
Nothing drops. You respawn with everything you had, which suits relaxed and building-first servers.
Item
Everything in your bag drops where you fell, but the gear you're wearing stays on you. This is the default since 1.0.
Item and equipment
Your bag and the gear you're wearing both drop, so a bad fight costs you your armour too.
All
Items, gear and the Pals in your party all drop. It was the default before 1.0, and it's the usual pick for hardcore servers.
Item: what each setting is set to
Items in your bagDropped
Equipped gearKept
Pals in your partyKept

In PalWorldSettings.iniDeathPenalty=Item

Other guilds can't pick up your dropped loot unless bCanPickupOtherGuildDeathPenaltyDrop is switched on, and it's off by default. Pocketpair's wording for All is "all Pals on team", meaning the Pals in your party.

These all live in PalWorldSettings.ini, on one long OptionSettings line. Stop the server before you edit it, and keep the line in one piece.

What your server's called, a password to keep it private, and an admin password for using admin commands.

Egg hatching

How long a Huge Egg takes to hatch, with smaller eggs scaling from it. Version 1.0 cut the server default from 72 hours to 1.

Bases per guild start at 4 (Pocketpair allows up to 10) and workers per base at 15 (up to 50). More of both means more for the server to run.

Raids on your base

Invading enemies attack bases by default. Switch them off for a calmer server.

PvP takes three settings together. Pocketpair calls it a trial feature, so expect the odd rough edge.

Who can join

Steam, Xbox (including the Microsoft Store PC version), PS5 and Mac players can all join by default. Take a platform off the list to keep it out.

Joining

Get everyone
into the same world.

How you join depends on what you play on.

  1. On PC, connect by address

Your server's IP and port are in the panel. In Palworld, choose to join a multiplayer game, enter the address and connect. Send your mates the same address.

  2. On Xbox and PS5, find it by name

Console players can't type an address. They join from the in-game community server list, so the server needs to be listed there, ideally with a password to keep it to your group.

  3. Moving a co-op world over?

Upload the world folder and remove its WorldOption.sav, or it will override your settings. The co-op host comes back as a new character until their old one is remapped, so take a backup first.

FAQ

Palworld questions,
straight answers.

What people ask before they rent a Palworld server.

How much RAM does a Palworld server need?

We recommend up to 10 GB for up to 10 players, up to 12 GB for up to 16 players and up to 16 GB for up to 32 players. Our RAM sizes are a guide, based on player count. What a server really uses also depends on its mods and plugins, its settings (map size, view distance and spawn rates all count), how much its world grows over time, and the game's own updates. If you're planning a modded server, start a size up.

How many players can join a Palworld server?

Up to 32. That's the limit Pocketpair sets for dedicated servers, whichever plan you're on.

Can Xbox, PS5 and Mac players join?

Yes. Palworld servers accept Steam, Xbox (including the Microsoft Store PC version), PS5 and Mac players by default. PC players can connect by address; Xbox and PS5 players join from the in-game community server list. A server running mods is PC-only.

Can I bring my co-op world over?

Yes, with a bit of work. Upload the world folder, remove its WorldOption.sav so it doesn't override your settings, and expect the co-op host to start as a new character until their old one is remapped with a save tool. Pocketpair hasn't published an official way to do it, so take a backup first.

Can I change the death penalty and rates?

Yes. They're all in PalWorldSettings.ini, which you can edit from the panel. Since 1.0 the default death penalty is Item, and eggs hatch in an hour unless you change it.

Can I use mods?

Palworld added official Steam Workshop mods in version 0.7. Mods only work for PC players, and Pocketpair's docs say server-side mods only run on the Windows version of the dedicated server. Email us before you plan a modded server and we'll tell you what works on ours.

Why restart a Palworld server every day?

Palworld servers have a history of using more memory the longer they run. Pocketpair has fixed several leaks, but a daily restart is still the common advice, and scheduled restarts come with every server.

Is Palworld still in Early Access?

No. Palworld left Early Access with version 1.0 on 10 July 2026, and existing worlds carry over.

Can I run a PvP server?

Yes. Switch on bIsPvP, bEnablePlayerToPlayerDamage and bEnableDefenseOtherGuildPlayer together. Pocketpair calls PvP a trial feature, so it's less polished than the rest of the game.

Where are your Palworld servers?

In London, close to players across the UK and Europe.
