Horde night
When the horde comes,
in real time.
Three sandbox options decide when the blood moon horde arrives and how long it lasts. Move them and see what that means in real time.
- Dusk moves with daylight
- With 18 hours of daylight the horde runs from 22:00 to 04:00. Cut the daylight below 18 hours and dusk comes earlier, so the horde runs longer.
- The range only adds days
- Blood Moon Range adds anything from none to a set number of days on top of the frequency, so a horde can come later than planned. It never comes early.
- How big it gets
- Each horde sends a set number of zombies for every player online, held back by the server's zombie cap, which is 64 across the whole world by default.
- Where these settings live now
- Since V3.0 they're sandbox options, saved together as one SandboxCode in the server's config. The old BloodMoonFrequency and DayNightLength settings do nothing any more.

The horde runs from 22:00 to 04:00 in game, on day 7.
Paste the code your server uses now and only these three settings change in it. Left empty, it starts from AAAJABJACJADJARFBNC, the code serverconfig.xml comes with.
That doesn't look like a sandbox code. Codes start with A and have only letters, like AAAJABJACJADJARFBNC. Until it's fixed, the code below starts from that one.
Your SandboxCode
AAAJABJACJADJARFBNCRead these as hours of play. Players report that the in-game clock stops while a server is empty, so a horde doesn't creep up on a server nobody's on.

FAQ
Questions,
answered.
What people ask about this.
Will the code change my other sandbox settings?
Not if you paste your current code in first. The tool changes 24 Day Cycle, Daylight Length and Blood Moon Frequency and keeps the rest as it was. With nothing pasted, it starts from AAAJABJACJADJARFBNC, the code serverconfig.xml comes with, which is the old default Adventurer difficulty.
Which game version are the codes for?
V3.3. We checked them by loading codes from this tool on a V3.3 dedicated server and reading back what it applied. The Fun Pimps changed some sandbox options in V3.1, so after a big update, make your code again.
Why don't BloodMoonFrequency and DayNightLength do anything any more?
Since V3.0 they're sandbox options, set through the sandbox code instead, and the old settings do nothing.
Can the horde come earlier than the frequency says?
No. Blood Moon Range only adds days on top of the frequency, from none to a set number, so a horde can come later than planned but never early.
How many zombies come?
Each horde sends a set number of zombies for every player online, held back by the server's zombie cap, which is 64 across the whole world by default.
Why does the horde last longer with less daylight?
Dusk moves with daylight. With 18 hours of daylight the horde runs from 22:00 to 04:00; with less, dusk comes earlier, so the horde runs longer.
Does time pass when nobody's on?
Players report that the in-game clock stops while a server is empty, so read these times as hours of play.
