How do I upload my Satisfactory save to my server?

You don’t need the file manager for this. Satisfactory’s Server Manager uploads a save from your PC straight to the server: claim the server, open its Manage Saves tab, upload the save and load it. Single-player and co-op saves both work.

Before you start

  • Claim the server first. Uploading and loading saves needs admin. See How do I claim my Satisfactory server?
  • Match the versions. The server turns away a save that’s too old or too new for it. Make sure your game and the server are on the same version. If you play on the Experimental branch, your saves can be newer than a server on the normal release.
  • Download a backup from your Game Panel first if the server already has a game you care about.

Upload it and load it

  1. Start Satisfactory on the PC that has your save.
  2. Open the Server Manager, select your server and log in with the admin password if it asks.
  3. Open the Manage Saves tab.
  4. Upload your save, picking it from the saves on your PC.
  5. Load it. Wait while the server loads the factory. A big save takes a while.
  6. Join and check everything’s there.

The Server Manager can also load a save with Advanced Game Settings switched on. Leave that alone unless you mean to use them.

Make it the save that loads after a restart

When the server starts, it loads the latest save of one session, set by Auto-Load Session Name in the server’s settings. After you load your save, check that setting shows your save’s session. Otherwise a restart can put everyone back in a different factory.

Moving from another Satisfactory server

Admins can download a server’s saves from the Server Manager. Connect to your old server as admin, download the save, then upload it to your HavoNode server as above. Make sure the old server has saved recently first: as admin, type server.SaveGame and a name in its Console tab.

Putting the file there by hand

Satisfactory keeps a server’s saves in a folder called server, inside FactoryGame/Saved/SaveGames/. That folder isn’t inside the server’s own install folder. If you can see it in your Game Panel’s file manager, you can put a save there yourself:

  1. Download a backup from your Game Panel first.
  2. Stop your server from the Game Panel.
  3. Upload the .sav file into the server folder.
  4. Start the server, then load the save from the Manage Saves tab.

On a Windows PC, your own saves are in %LOCALAPPDATA%\FactoryGame\Saved\SaveGames\, in a folder named after your Steam or Epic account. Each save is a single .sav file. The server’s autosaves are named after the session, such as MyFactory_autosave_0.sav, and it keeps three that take turns.

Tip

Want your factory back on your own PC? As admin, download the save from the Server Manager and carry on in single-player.

Still stuck?

Ask the assistant in your Game Panel. It can read your server's console, logs and config to find what's wrong, and changes nothing until you approve it. For anything that needs a person, email us.
